Before we get started please don?t let my post count or join date put you off. I?ve been RPing for a couple of years now and have GMed quite a few times.
Anyway the idea is pretty simple we?re talking a Twin Peaky, Alan Wakey type of RP here. Set in a small town where a few weird murders have been occurring.
That?s the one line synopsis. Sound good? Then continue reading.
The setting is a small US town in 1991. George Bush senior is in the White House, Nirvana has just released Nevermind and the first gulf war has been over for just under a year. None of this really matters in the small town of Cartwright in Upstate Washington which seems very cut off from the wider world. Cartwright has a population of 1,992 which in recent months has fallen due to the disappearance of two High school students.
The Local Sheriff?s Department led the investigation but they were simply not equipped to handle such a crime. One of the bodies turned up several miles away and slightly over state lines which led to the involvement of two FBI agents who are to assist local Law enforcement in whatever way they can.
The woods though seem to hold a dark secret that will open up the case but are having a strange affect on the towns people, some just feel like they are being watched while in the woods, others suffer migraines and hallucinations. Whatever dark force is in the woods seems to causing the problems. Down the line this will most likely result in a few possessions or maybe a lot of possessions depending on how we want the action to go.
Cartwright has all the things you would expect of a small town in the early 90?s, a store, diner, bar etc. Most citizens enjoy the outdoors given the surrounding forest and hunting is a very popular pastime as is hiking. The Geographical location of the town has left it feel very remote and cut off from the rest of the world.
All questions and input (even if it?s just to say this idea is terrible) would be appreciated.
